This route was mentioned by Redfin Reality as a "Hidden gem outdoor activity in Denver".

Highs:

Waterton Canyon makes for a gorgeous ride along a river.

Very smooth, wide and well maintained dirt road.

Not very many people on a weekday night.

BIGHORN SHEEP and deer sightings!!

Lows:

We actually didn’t know much about the behavior of bighorn sheep and felt a little nervous passing them. (They are bigger than you think!)

Do this ride if you want a quick and easy but super enjoyable and beautiful ride with the chance to possibly see some Colorado wildlife.

Other Notes:

This area is popular, so weekday riding would be more ideal.

Parking is free and easy at the Waterton Canyon Trailhead Parking Lot (and there are public restrooms there too).
