The ability to pick up speed on relatively smooth gravel roads.
Having confidence on a route we’d explored a few weeks before.
Virtually no vehicle traffic. Post-card worthy scenery.
Today, we didn’t have it in us (mentally or physically) to do much of the trail we started on.
Do this ride if you need a ride where you don’t have to think and can just pedal.
Being relatively new to gravel riding, we aren’t ready to do back-to-back days of technical gravel rides. We recognized that we needed an easy day in the saddle after the previous day’s adventure. (We started down a difficult trail and after a few miles, we listened to our bodies and turned back for easier terrain.)
